Eight Months

Sophie had her eight-month check-up today. The new stats:

Height: 29.5" (off the charts)
Weight: 21 pounds (90th percentile)

Before you start panicking that Sophie is only in the 90th percentile for weight please keep in mind that she just got over being sick (coxsackie virus or hoof-and-mouth as we call it) and that she's still in the 90th percentile for weight. She won't be losing any sumo matches just yet.

Sophie wants to walk very badly. She's got speed crawling down pretty well, much to the dismay of Noodles, but she knows there is a better way. She can pull herself up to a standing position with ease and is starting to cruise around the furniture. One of her favorite games is pulling up and then letting go to see what happens. She falls and then repeats. It's lots of fun until she lands face first on the coffee table.

Sophie had two shots today to catch her up on her immunizations. She and Genevieve were sick all of last week so I'm pretty used to the crankiness by now. Hopefully we won't see the doctor again until June.
