Regime Change in the Middle Bedroom

Genevieve sleeps with five animals. She has: Paprika, Bunny, Bunny-blanket, Lamb-blanket and Goosey the Goose. Blame it on our naivete as first time parents but early on we tried swapping in and out two different "lovies". These were the ultra soft blankets with an animal head on the end. At some point Genevieve ended up with both at one time and never let go. This process continued until every stuffed animal she owned was in bed with her. We put our foot down ever so gently and limited her to four animals. The aforementioned animals excluding the goose. The goose showed up after her Grandpa bought it for her on a trip to the toy store. We didn't want to cause a hullabaloo while her grandparents were visiting so we let her keep the goose in bed with her. By the time they had left, the goose was firmly entrenched and the limit was now five.

Paprika, Genevieve's favorite, had been on the outs for a while. She was pushed into second place by the aptly named Bunny. This, while surprising, happened a few months back and is generally old news. The surprising turn of events happened when Paprika and the two blankets were put onto the rocking chair and three new bears were put into the bed. I'm not even sure they have names yet but they've been in her bed for three days now and they seem pretty comfortable.

Perhaps the blankets had been plotting a coup with Paprika against bunny and had to be forced into exile.
