I can do it. I will do it nine times.

Just recently I noticed that Genevieve has hit another milestone. Though, not all milestones are good ones. She has realized that she can do things by herself. Now, if it is a task that she can accomplish then she must be the one to do it.

"No, I can do it by myself!"
"No Daddy! I want to do it. You can watch"
"Stop! Stop doing it!!! I'll do it"

What is incredible is that she'll undo what has been done so that she can do it all herself. Yesterday I had put the potty seat on the toilet. She walked over, took the seat off of the toilet and then closed the lid. After which she promptly opened the lid and placed the seat back on top. Now she was ready to go.

When it was time to brush her teeth she was dilly dallying in the other room saying that she didn't want to. I picked her up and carried her to the bathroom. At which point she declared she could do it by herself. She walked back into the living room to the precise spot where she had been picked up. Then waltzed into the bathroom and brushed her teeth.

I'm sure at some point I'll be glad that I don't have to do everything for her but right now it is just annoying. On the potty front she regularly asks to use it and more often than not will pee in it. She still needs her diapers though and as of now she refuses to consider pooping in the potty even though she knows that is where it is supposed to go as evidenced by this video
