Retirement

It looks like I will have to retire Sophie's baby carrier today. It says it is only good for babies up to 26". The doctor says that she is 28.25".

The Stats:

Height: 28.25" - over 95th percentile
Weight: 19.25 pounds - over 95th percentile
HC: 50th percentile

At this age Genevieve was an inch shorter and 2.5 pounds heavier. I wish I could go back in time and pinch those thighs. So chunky...

The doctor said that Sophie is doing phenomenally well and is a very strong little girl. He also said that she can eat anything we feel comfortable giving her except for nuts, honey and syrup. Let the culinary extravaganza begin!

Void

We don't have cable or satellite TV at our house, for many reasons. So if it doesn't come on DVD we don't know that it exists. While this has many positive aspects it also has the unfortunate side effect of putting us into an informational void. We read a lot of news online so we have a good idea of what is going on in the world but some how always manage to have no clue as to what is going on here. For instance, take the weather. I often forget to check what the weather is going to be like and usually just assume that it will be close to what it was yesterday. This works a lot of the time but will often surprise you. Say... when it was in the 40s and sunny yesterday and this morning there is six inches of snow on the ground.

I was going to take Genevieve to the museum but she thought building snowmen and snow angels was a pretty good substitute.

Genevieve also enjoyed clearing the snow from her slide.

We played for almost two hours in the snow. It didn't look quite the same when we were finished.

Head Banger in Training

Maybe someone should tell Sophie that you should use your hands instead of your head to play the piano. At least she's getting better at sitting.

Baby Cage 3.0

New and improved: Baby Cage 3.0. It now includes an easy entry point for the preschooler on the go as well as a penalty box for any children that misbehave. The penalty box can also be used by infants who want to master the skills of crawling and sitting up in relative peace.

We surveyed all resident preschoolers when creating Baby Cage 3.0 and discovered that removing the walls from the open access area would result in multiple tantrums. The creators of Baby Cage listen to the concerns of our clients. Tearing down the walls will have to wait until a future release.

Rolling Right Along

While Sophie wants to crawl really badly she'll just have to settle for rolling after the things she wants.
