Let's Go Ride A Bike

I took Jonah for his first bike ride the other day. You may recall the bike seat that we purchased for Genevieve when she was around this age; well, we dusted it off and put Jonah in it. He loved it. Carrie has some pictures on her cell phone and hopefully she'll upload them soon. We rode all over the neighborhood and he was taking in the sights until, I guess, he got a little bored. I felt him start poking me in the side and I couldn't figure out what he was doing until he removed my blackberry -case and all- from my belt. I didn't want to scold him for fear of him dropping it. I reached behind me and retrieved the case. To my surprise, it was empty. After a little more behind-the-back wrestling with Jonah, I managed to retrieve my blackberry. He was a little annoyed but I can live with it.

In other biking news: I took Sophie and Genevieve to a roller-hockey rink today to practice riding. Genevieve is doing very well but needs a little more confidence. The park by our house doesn't have a large enough space for her to really practice which has really been keeping her from wanting to ride her bike. The rink is much bigger so she didn't really worry about hitting things. There were a few close calls with the goals but she mostly manged to ride with ease. I didn't have to touch the bike at all today. She was able to start, stop, and turn with ease. She was a little worried about turning left but eventually got the hang of it. Sophie had a good time with her training wheels but didn't like when it would wobble from one wheel to the other so she took it very slowly to ensure she was always tilted a little to the right. Next week I'm thinking of starting her on a two wheeler. It might just be easier.
